CM-100-M1SC2U Media Converter.
The CM-100-M1SC2U Managed Fast Ethernet Media Converter Module is designed to connect a 100Base-TX (RJ-45) Ethernet network to a 100Base-BX single strand fiber (1310nm TX / 1550nm RX) with an SC connector. It supports a distance of up to 2 km (1.2 miles) for multimode fiber and 100 meters (328 feet) for copper (UTP) connections.
This module is intended for installation in the MCR200 or MCR1900 Modular Chassis System. It facilitates a seamless connection between UTP copper and fiber networks.
The managed version of this module is ideal for environments requiring strong network security. When paired with an MCR-MGT Management Module in the chassis, it enables full support for AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) security services commonly used in corporate networks, including TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS, and RSA. Additionally, to ensure secure management sessions and protect credentials from network eavesdropping, the module supports SSH, SNMPv3, Telnet, and HTTPS for secure access.
