CM-1000-M2SC2 Managed Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter Module.
The CM-1000-M2SC2 is a Gigabit Fiber-to-Ethernet media converter module that connects 1000BASE-T (RJ-45) copper cabling (up to 100 m / 328 ft) to 1000BASE-LX 1310 nm extended multimode fiber (SC) over distances of up to 2 km / 6,562 ft. It supports both managed and unmanaged operation.
Designed for installation in the MCR200 or MCR1900 Modular Chassis System, this fiber-to-Ethernet media converter transparently bridges UTP copper and fiber networks.
When used with the MCR-MGT Management Module, the CM-1000-M2SC2 operates as a managed module suitable for security-critical environments. It enables full AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) support, including TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS, and RSA.
To safeguard network credentials and management traffic, Perle Managed Fiber Converters support secure management protocols such as SSH, SNMPv3, Telnet, and HTTPS, helping prevent unauthorized access and network snooping.
