CM-100-S2ST40 Managed Fast Ethernet Media Converter Module.
The CM-100-S2ST40 is a Fast Ethernet fiber-to-Ethernet media converter module that connects 100BASE-TX (RJ-45) copper cabling (up to 100 m / 328 ft) to 100BASE-EX 1310 nm single-mode fiber (ST) over distances of up to 40 km / 24.9 miles. It supports both managed and unmanaged operation.
Designed for installation in the MCR200 or MCR1900 Modular Chassis System, this media converter transparently bridges UTP copper and fiber networks.
When used with the MCR-MGT Management Module, the CM-100-S2ST40 functions as a managed module ideal for security-critical environments. It provides full AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) support, including TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS, and RSA.
To protect management sessions, user IDs, and passwords from unauthorized access, Perle Managed Fiber Converters support secure management protocols such as SSH, SNMPv3, Telnet, and HTTPS, ensuring secure and reliable network administration.
