SMI-1000-M2ST2 Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter.
A managed Fiber-to-Ethernet media converter that provides transparent connectivity between copper and fiber networks. It converts 1000BASE-T (RJ-45) links up to 100 m (328 ft.) to 1000BASE-LX extended multimode fiber at 1310 nm using ST connectors, supporting distances up to 2 km (6,562 ft.).
Designed for security-sensitive environments, it supports full AAA authentication services used in enterprise networks, including TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS, and RSA. To protect IDs and passwords from network snooping, secure management sessions are supported through SSH, SNMPv3, Telnet, and HTTPS.
