CM-100-S1ST20D Managed Fast Ethernet Media Converter Module.
This module converts 100Base-TX (RJ-45) copper Ethernet signals (up to 100 m / 328 ft) to 100Base-BX single-strand fiber, using 1550nm TX and 1310nm RX wavelengths on single-mode fiber with an ST connector, supporting distances up to 20 km (12.4 miles). It can operate in either managed or unmanaged modes.
Designed for installation in the MCR200 or MCR1900 Modular Chassis Systems, this fiber-to-Ethernet media converter enables transparent connection between UTP copper and fiber networks.
These Managed Modules are built for environments where network security is paramount. When used alongside an MCR-MGT Management Module installed in the chassis, they support comprehensive authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) security protocols common in corporate networks, including TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS, and RSA. To further safeguard usernames and passwords from interception, Perle Managed Fiber Converters provide secure management sessions via SSH, SNMPv3, Telnet, and HTTPS.
