The CM-1000-S2ST160 is a managed gigabit fiber-to-Ethernet media converter module supporting 1000BASE-T (RJ-45) up to 100 m (328 ft.) to 1000BASE-ZX 1550 nm single-mode (ST) with a reach of 160 km (100 miles). Designed for installation in the MCR200 or MCR1900 modular chassis systems, it transparently connects UTP copper to fiber. This managed module enhances network security by supporting AAA services such as TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS, and RSA when used with an MCR-MGT Management Module. It also ensures secure management sessions through SSH, SNMPv3, Telnet, and HTTPS, protecting sensitive credentials from network snooping.
